Two individuals suspected of stealing over $1,100 worth of merchandise from Target were arrested Thursday in San Mateo, according to local police.
On Thursday night, San Mateo Police received a report of a theft that had just occurred at the Target store located in the Bridgepointe Shopping Center. A Target employee informed the officers that two suspects had stolen items and fled through the parking lot toward Bridgepointe Parkway.
Police arrived promptly and, after a brief search, located and detained the suspects on the 2200 block of Bridgepointe Parkway. Investigators estimate that the duo stole approximately $1,100 worth of items from the store, all of which were returned to Target by the police.
The suspects, aged 31 and 38, both from Redding, were arrested and booked into San Mateo County Jail. The 31-year-old suspect faces charges of organized retail theft, second-degree burglary, and possession of a controlled substance, while the 38-year-old suspect is charged with organized retail theft and second-degree burglary.
