Brighton – Two men in their 40s have been arrested in connection with the alleged rape of a 19-year-old man in Brighton’s city centre.
The victim reported that, at around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, he was approached by two men near Harry Ramsden’s in Old Steine. Shortly afterwards, he was raped in Steine Lane, according to Sussex Police.
Following the assault, the victim managed to seek help from a passer-by, who then contacted authorities. The 19-year-old is currently receiving support from specialist officers.
On Thursday, police arrested a 40-year-old man from Redhill, Surrey, in Esher, and a 42-year-old man from Chessington, Kingston-Upon-Thames, in Ramsgate, Kent. Both men have been arrested on suspicion of rape and remain in police custody.

Detective Inspector Sean Booth praised the efforts of the police team and the public for their involvement in the case. “These arrests were made as a result of the diligent work of our officers, staff, and the public,” he said.
He also encouraged any witnesses to come forward, urging anyone with information to contact the police online or by calling 101, quoting Operation Attach.
