The San Jose Police Department is currently investigating the city’s 24th homicide of the year.
Around midnight on Friday, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Townsend Avenue and Park Entrance Drive following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found a man with at least one gunshot wound.
Despite the prompt response from paramedics, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the victim will be kept confidential until his next of kin is notified.
SJPD is actively looking into the motive and circumstances surrounding the shooting.
