As Christmas Day nears, residents of Apopka and unincorporated Orange County should note changes to their garbage collection schedules. These adjustments accommodate the holiday and the increased waste generated during Christmas celebrations.

Apopka Residents

  • No Collection on Christmas Day: There will be no garbage, recycling, yard trash, or bulk pickups on Wednesday, December 25, 2024.
  • Holiday Message: Public Services extends warm wishes for a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all residents.

Orange County Residents

For those in unincorporated Orange County, curbside collection services will shift during Christmas week:

  • Revised Schedule:
    • Wednesday customers will be serviced on Thursday, December 26.
    • Thursday customers will be serviced on Friday, December 27.
    • Friday customers will be serviced on Saturday, December 28.
  • Regular Schedule Resumes: On Monday, December 30, 2024, the standard collection schedule will return.
  • New Year’s Day: Garbage collection will follow the regular schedule on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
