Highway 101 has reopened in both directions following a big rig fire that occurred Tuesday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the fire broke out on the southbound side of the highway, with smoke drifting into the northbound lanes, leading to a temporary closure.
Firefighters responded swiftly to extinguish the flames, and fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
However, drivers should be aware that residual traffic may persist, as the southbound off-ramp to Betabel Road remains closed.
