Caltrans Bay Area-District 4 has announced upcoming lane closures on U.S. 101 for important median barrier upgrades. The work will commence on Friday, October 25, at 10:00 PM and is scheduled to continue until Monday, October 28, at 5:00 AM. During this time, the North and Southbound Express Lanes (Lane #1) will be closed for a 2.5-mile stretch from the San Mateo/Santa Clara County line to Whipple Avenue.
This closure is the seventh of nine planned 55-hour single-lane closures as part of Caltrans’ ongoing efforts to improve safety. Additionally, there may be temporary closures of other lanes to facilitate the movement of equipment and materials. Motorists are advised to anticipate further closures on November 1-4 and November 15-18 as construction progresses. Caltrans encourages drivers to plan their routes accordingly and to expect delays during this construction period.
