A man was fatally shot early Sunday morning in San Jose, marking the city’s 26th homicide of the year, according to police.
Officers responded to a report of gunfire in the 100 block of South Second Street at approximately 2:38 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered a man with at least one gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of officers and medics to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim’s identity will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office once it is confirmed and his family has been notified, police said.
