Inspection Findings and Temporary Shutdown
A recent inspection by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation took place on December 9, 2024, revealing several violations at the Pinellas Park location. Among the six violations noted were:
- Basic violations, including the presence of black/green mold-like substances in the ice machine and dead roaches found on the premises. Additionally, there was a leaking pipe under the dish machine.
- An intermediate violation was issued due to the handwash sink not being easily accessible for employees.
- High-priority violations included the discovery of live roaches and flying insects in the kitchen area.
As a result of these issues, the restaurant was temporarily closed.
A follow-up inspection on the same day found that only one violation remained, which was not deemed an immediate threat to public health. Consequently, the location was able to meet inspection standards and was cleared to reopen.
Important Note
It’s important to understand that an inspection represents a specific point in time and doesn’t necessarily reflect the day-to-day operations of a restaurant. Chick-fil-A is known for maintaining high standards, and the restaurant in Pinellas Park is now back in business after addressing the issues raised during the inspection.
