Celebrate 50 Years of Culture at Miccosukee Tribe’s Indian Arts & Crafts Festival

The Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida is celebrating the 50th Anniversary of its Indian Arts & Crafts Festival, set to take place from December 26 to 29, 2024, at the historic Miccosukee Indian Village festival grounds in the Everglades. The event will run daily from 9 AM to 5 PM.

Since its inception in the 1970s, the festival has been a beloved winter tradition in South Florida, showcasing the rich and diverse cultures of Native American tribes. This year’s milestone celebration promises to be a memorable experience, offering attendees a unique opportunity to explore Native American heritage in an authentic and engaging setting.

The festival will feature a variety of activities, including live music performances, an artisan market with handcrafted goods, authentic Native American cuisine, alligator shows, and captivating storytelling sessions. Commemorative merchandise will also be available to mark the occasion.

Notable performances include two-time Grammy nominee Joe Tohonnie Jr., the White Mountain Apache Crown Dancers, and the Native Pride Dancers led by world-champion fancy dancer Larry Yazzie. Special performances will also be given by Sicangu Lakota musician Frank Waln. On Saturday, December 28, actor and comedian Tatanka Means—known for his roles in Killers of the Flower Moon and The Son—will make a celebrity appearance. Means represents the Navajo, Oglala Lakota, and Omaha Nations.

“The 50th Anniversary of this festival is a significant milestone for our Tribe,” said Talbert Cypress, Chairman of the Miccosukee Tribe. “We are proud to celebrate our Native American heritage and welcome visitors from around the world to join us in this unforgettable event.”

Presale tickets are available through Eventbrite, with a 10% discount for purchases made before Friday, November 29. For more details and ticket information, visit Miccosukee.com.
