The Campbell Police Department (CPD) has arrested two business owners in connection with the receipt and sale of stolen electronics.
On October 12, officers received a report about laptops stolen from a research lab, which were “pinging their location” at the iTek Mobile Repair shop on South Bascom Avenue. Investigators also discovered stolen items listed for sale on the store’s website.
The suspects were identified as Thu Van Ho, 31, and Thanh Nguyen, 32, both residents of San Jose. Police indicated that the pair were aware the products were stolen and intended to resell them after erasing previous data.
During a search of the shop, Campbell police seized 29 boxes containing computers, phones, and iPads/tablets believed to be stolen property, as well as approximately 500 laptops. Investigators noted that the stolen electronics were packaged for shipment to Hong Kong, where they were intended to be resold.
Ho faces multiple charges, including receiving stolen property, conspiracy to commit a crime, violation of probation, and committing a felony while out on bail. He was already on probation and out on bail for a prior offense involving stolen items at the time of his arrest.
Nguyen has been charged with receiving stolen property and conspiracy to commit a crime, and he also had an outstanding warrant for a related offense.
