A lucky player in Camden, Delaware, is the latest winner of a Mega Millions prize worth millions. The winning ticket, purchased at a Redner’s Market outlet, matched all five white Mega Millions balls for the August 20 draw. In addition to the main draw, the player opted to spend an extra dollar on the Megaplier, increasing their prize.
The winner now has one year from the draw date to claim their prize, which must be done in person due to the amount exceeding $5,000. To claim the prize, the winner will need to provide photo identification with their name and address, as well as their Social Security card. Since the ticket was bought in Delaware, the prize can only be collected in the state.
The odds of winning this Mega Millions prize were 1 in approximately 12.6 million, far better than the jackpot odds of 1 in 302.6 million.
As the prize pool continues to grow, the current Mega Millions jackpot stands at $825 million, with an estimated cash value of $382.2 million. The jackpot has been rolling over since September, when a Texas player won more than $800 million.

In April 2025, Mega Millions will implement changes to the game. Tickets will rise to $5, but in return, prize pools are expected to grow more quickly and offer larger jackpots more frequently.
