On March 30, 2023, the Henry Ford Health System faced allegations in a patient class action lawsuit, claiming the organization failed to protect patients from a significant data breach. In response to the claims, the healthcare provider has agreed to a $700,000 settlement but has not admitted any wrongdoing.

The breach reportedly compromised the names, contact information, and medical data of approximately 168,000 individuals. Those affected have been notified by Henry Ford Health System via mail regarding the potential compromise of their personal information.
