Powerball warning to check tickets for unclaimed $50,000 prize and it was bought at a convenience store
According to The Sun , A lucky Powerball player in Arizona has yet to come forward to claim a $50,000 prize from the November 2 drawing, and officials are urging the winner to step forward before time runs out. The ticket was purchased at Sons Food Store in northern Phoenix, and the winning numbers were 10, 45, 48, 58, 61, with the red Powerball number being 2.
The player matched four of the five white balls and the red Powerball, earning a $50,000 payout. The odds of winning with this combination are 1 in over 900,000. However, the winner has until May 1, 2025, to claim the prize, or the funds will be forfeited and redistributed into Arizona’s general fund to benefit state programs.
To claim the prize, the winner needs to sign the back of the ticket and either mail a completed claim form to the Arizona Lottery or visit a lottery office in person. This process is required for all winnings over $600.

The winner will have the option to receive the $50,000 either as a lump sum or through annuity payments. However, choosing the lump sum means a substantial tax deduction. Federal taxes will take 24% of the winnings, and Arizona’s state tax rate is 4.8%, totaling about $14,400 in taxes. The winner would then take home around $35,600 from the original prize.
In addition to this unclaimed prize, there are other large lottery winnings still waiting to be claimed. A Missouri player has yet to claim a $1 million Mega Millions prize from the end of October, and Kansas Lottery officials are also searching for a $100,000 winner.
