New Development: Weeksville Place
Located in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, the newly completed Weeksville Place at 1559 Prospect Place features eight stories of brand-new apartments designed to be accessible for city residents. The development was built on a previously vacant lot and includes a total of 45 units, with a lottery available for 36 of them, ensuring rent stabilization and income restrictions.
Unit Details and Lottery Information
The available units include studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments. To qualify for the lottery, applicants must meet two key criteria:
- They must be New York families or single occupants.
- They must earn between 30% and 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI).
Income limits range from $18,480 for a one-person household to $134,160 for a five-person household, according to the NYC Housing Connect listing.
- Studios: 15 units starting at $454, with a maximum of $654.
- One-bedroom units: 7 units starting at $577, reaching up to $1,676.
- Two-bedroom units: 14 units starting at $1,364, with a cap of $1,999.
Additionally, nine units are reserved as supportive spaces for families referred by New York City agencies. Preference for the lowest-priced units will be given to seniors.
Application Deadline
The lottery for Weeksville Place is currently open, with applications closing on October 28. Interested individuals can apply through the NYC Housing Connect website.

In 2022, the city transferred the lot to affordable housing developers Settlement Housing Fund and The Beechwood Organization for just $3. Settlement Housing Fund has a strong presence in Crown Heights, with several affordable housing projects already completed.
