Mojo Donuts Says Goodbye to Miami: All Locations Closing for Good

According to The Sun , Fans of Mojo Donuts in Miami are heartbroken after the beloved donut chain announced it will close its three local locations on November 15. The company took to Instagram to share the news, expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support from its customers throughout the years.

“After an incredible journey of serving up smiles, sweets, and that unmistakable Mojo, it’s time to say goodbye,” Mojo Donuts wrote in its post, thanking Miami residents for their loyalty. The announcement emphasized that while the Miami stores are closing, the original location in Pembroke Pines will remain open.

The Miami locations set to shut down include Mojo’s Bird Road, Kendall, and Coral Gables stores. The closure decision, according to co-owner Jimmy Piedrahita, came down to rising operating costs that had become unsustainable for the small business. Piedrahita explained that the cost of ingredients, particularly flour, had nearly doubled, making it difficult for the donut shop to continue at its current pricing.

“It’s heartbreaking,” Piedrahita said in an interview with the Miami Herald. “The cost wasn’t sustainable…Even larger restaurants can absorb these costs, but we’re a humble doughnut shop. I can’t sell a $17 doughnut.”

The closure announcement has left many fans devastated. One fan shared on social media, “Sucks but I truly wish you all many blessings as you continue on to your next chapters,” while another expressed their disappointment, saying, “Nooooo, easily the best donuts.”

For those looking to visit the Miami locations one last time, Mojo Donuts is encouraging customers to “savor your favorites” during the final days before the closure.
