Hurry! $1.3M Data Breach Settlement Offers Up to $15,500 – Claim Your Money Today!

According to The Sun , Americans have just a few days left to claim compensation of up to $15,500 if their personal information was compromised in the March 2023 UnitedLex data breach.

Those impacted by the breach, which involved the personal data of employees and contractors, are eligible to receive reimbursements for related expenses. Although UnitedLex denies any wrongdoing, the company has agreed to a $1.3 million settlement to resolve the allegations.

Claimants can request reimbursement for losses caused by fraud, identity theft, or other expenses stemming from the breach. This includes costs for services like professional assistance, credit monitoring, travel, or other related fees. Additionally, individuals affected can receive up to $500 for lost time and access to free credit monitoring and identity protection services through July 2027.

To file a claim, affected individuals only need to provide proof of their expenses, such as receipts, account statements, tax documents, police reports, or fraud claims.

The deadline for filing claims is Tuesday, November 12, 2024, with the final hearing to approve the settlement scheduled for December 10, 2024.

Additionally, those impacted by another significant breach at the Pacific Cataract & Laser Institute may also be entitled to direct payments up to $5,150. The $400,000 settlement, resulting from a cyber attack that compromised thousands of personal records, including Social Security numbers, medical details, and insurance information, was announced in March 2024. Though the Institute has not admitted wrongdoing, they have agreed to the settlement. Anyone who received a breach notice from the Institute is eligible to claim compensation.
