The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) provided details on eligibility and distribution schedules for these states.
Alabama and Arkansas SNAP Payments on October 4
In Alabama, SNAP benefits will be distributed from October 4 through October 23. The exact date of payment depends on the last two digits of your SNAP case number. For instance, if your case number ends in 00-04, you will receive your benefits on October 4.
Arkansas will also begin sending SNAP benefits on October 4, with distributions continuing until October 13. Eligibility for payment is based on the recipient’s Social Security Number (SSN). If your SSN ends in 0 or 1, your benefits will be available on October 4.
Maryland, Minnesota, and Mississippi SNAP Payments on October 4
Maryland’s SNAP benefit distribution starts on October 4 and continues through October 23. Payment dates are determined by the first three letters of your last name. For example, if your last name begins with letters between AAA and BAO, you will receive your benefits on October 4.

Minnesota recipients should check the last digit of their case number. If it ends in 4, you’ll receive your benefits on October 4, while those with case numbers ending in 0 or 1 will receive benefits on the 10th or 11th, respectively.
In Mississippi, SNAP benefits will be distributed from October 4 to October 21. Similar to Alabama, the last two digits of your case number determine your payment date. If your case number ends in 00-04, expect your benefits on October 4.
Maximum SNAP Benefits After 2025 COLA Increase
After the 2025 cost-of-living adjustment (COLA), the maximum SNAP benefit amounts are as follows:
- Individuals: Up to $292
- Family of four: Up to $975
- Family of eight: Up to $1,756
These amounts are applicable across the 48 contiguous states.
