According to The Sun , Thousands of Americans are being urged to check if they are eligible to claim up to $2,000 from a class action settlement. This is the final opportunity for those affected by the Pinnacle Propane data breach to apply for compensation, and all it takes is a simple receipt.
The settlement follows a 2023 data breach involving Pinnacle Propane, a domestic and commercial propane supplier. The breach compromised the names, addresses, and Social Security numbers of current and former employees. The lawsuit alleges that Pinnacle Propane failed to implement adequate security measures to prevent the cyberattack.
While the company denied any wrongdoing, it agreed to settle the lawsuit by paying an undisclosed amount. Under the terms of the settlement, affected class members could receive up to $2,000 in reimbursement for documented extraordinary losses, or $240 for lost time. Those who do not have documented expenses can receive a cash payment of $100 instead.
To claim the money, affected individuals must submit account statements along with proof of breach-related losses, such as receipts, bills, invoices, or credit reports. Claims must be filed under penalty of perjury by December 13, and fraudulent claims may negatively impact other eligible members. If unsure about eligibility, individuals are advised to check the FAQ section on the Settlement Administrator’s website before submitting their claim.
In addition to the Pinnacle Propane settlement, Americans are also being urged to check their eligibility for a share of a $1.6 million data breach settlement with the Hilb Group. The lawsuit involves claims that Hilb Group failed to prevent a data breach between December 1, 2022, and January 12, 2023, that exposed sensitive customer information. Affected individuals can claim up to $5,000 in reimbursement for documented out-of-pocket losses.
To claim, individuals must provide proof of their losses, such as bank statements, receipts, credit card statements, or invoices. The deadline to file claims for this settlement is also December 13, 2024.

Those affected may be eligible for compensation.
Additionally, streaming service Tubi has agreed to pay $19.99 million to settle a privacy lawsuit. The class action alleges that Tubi shared users’ personal information with third parties without consent, violating the Video Privacy Protection Act. Tubi has not admitted to wrongdoing but agreed to settle the lawsuit. Eligible Tubi users can receive a share of the settlement, with the exact amount depending on the number of claims filed.
If you believe you may be eligible for any of these settlements, be sure to submit your claim before the respective deadlines.
