According to The Sun , Americans have just a few hours left to claim a one-time payment of up to $3,000 as part of a $5.1 million privacy settlement involving Magid Gloves. The lawsuit alleges that Magid Gloves violated Illinois’ laws by using fingerprint time clocks and temperature scanners without providing the necessary information to users.
Anyone who used these devices at the company’s Romeoville facility between January 8, 2016, and August 30, 2024, may be eligible to receive a payment. The company, which manufactures work gloves and protective equipment, has not admitted wrongdoing but agreed to settle the class action lawsuit for $5.175 million.
Eligible individuals can receive approximately $3,244.38 for using the fingerprint scanning devices, or up to $135.26 for having their temperature taken by the scanners. The deadline for exclusions and objections was October 29, and the final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for December 20.
