$6,000 Awaits: Submit Your Claim Form for the $2.7M Data Breach Settlement Before It’s Too Late

According to The Sun , Time is running out for Americans to claim up to thousands of dollars from a data breach settlement involving Great Expressions, a network of 246 dental care centers across the U.S.

The dental company is facing a class-action lawsuit due to a data breach in 2023, in which it is alleged that Great Expressions failed to implement adequate cybersecurity measures, leading to the compromise of sensitive consumer information, including Social Security numbers. Although the company has not admitted to any wrongdoing, it has agreed to pay $2.7 million to settle the lawsuit.

Eligibility for Compensation

To qualify for compensation, class members must have received a notification from Great Expressions about the February 2023 data breach. The settlement divides class members into two groups based on whether their Social Security numbers were potentially exposed.

  1. Subclass 1: Customers whose Social Security numbers were compromised can receive:
    • $500 in cash
    • $500 for ordinary losses
    • $5,000 for extraordinary losses
    • $20 per hour of lost time (for up to two hours), totaling a maximum of $40.

Proof of expenses like receipts, bills, invoices, account statements, or credit reports will be required to claim compensation for losses.

  2. Subclass 2: Consumers whose Social Security numbers were not compromised are eligible for:
    • $20 per hour of lost time (for up to two hours), totaling a maximum of $40.
