A 20-year-old man from Menlo Park, Toetuu Tameifuna, was arrested at the Orinda BART station on Friday night after police alleged he was involved in a robbery and an assault.
At approximately 9:20 p.m., authorities received reports of a fight occurring on a train, with one individual reportedly wielding a small, hooked knife. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a victim on the platform suffering from a serious facial injury. However, another victim had already left the scene and boarded a different train.
Following the incident, police were able to locate Tameifuna with the help of witness statements. However, when officers attempted to arrest him, he resisted, leading to a struggle.
Tameifuna is currently being held at the Martinez Detention Facility on charges of robbery and assault and battery. His bail has been set at $130,000.
