As the holiday countdown continues, Target is helping shoppers wrap up their gift-buying with extended hours on Christmas Eve. The retailer will remain open until 8 PM, giving customers extra time to grab those last-minute presents.
Although this marks an earlier close than their usual 10 PM hours, Target’s extended Christmas Eve schedule is still two hours later than Walmart, which will shut its doors at 6 PM that day.
Leading up to Christmas Eve, Target locations are operating with extended hours from 7 AM to midnight, providing plenty of opportunities for shoppers to complete their holiday lists.
On Christmas Day, however, all 1,963 Target stores will close, allowing employees to enjoy time with their families after the busy holiday season. While in-store shopping will pause for the day, purchases can still be made online for delivery or collection after the holidays.
Holiday Closures
Target is among many retailers nationwide observing a Christmas Day closure. Other major chains participating in this retail hiatus include Dollar Tree, Costco, and Trader Joe’s. Department stores such as Macy’s, Burlington, and Kohl’s will also remain closed on December 25.
Additionally, most stores will operate with reduced hours on Christmas Eve. Shoppers should confirm their local store’s holiday schedule to avoid any surprises during their last-minute trips.
