According to Newsweek , IHA Beverage, based in California, has issued a recall for its Super Dried Cinnamon Powder due to concerns about elevated levels of lead. This recall follows routine testing by the Arkansas Department of Health, which found higher-than-acceptable lead levels in the product.
The affected products are packaged in clear plastic containers with a red and gold border, weighing 4 ounces and featuring the UPC code 610232012476. These items were distributed in California and some other locations across the U.S., according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). As of November 18, no illnesses have been reported. The company has halted distribution and is investigating the issue further.
Consumers who have purchased the affected cinnamon powder are advised to dispose of it or return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund. Those with questions can contact IHA Beverage at 323-724-8551, Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. PST.
