According to Vibes.okdiario , Disability benefits provide essential financial support for individuals with qualifying disabilities. For those relying on Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI), there are some important updates for November and December 2024.
SSI Recipients to Get an Extra Payment on Black Friday
For SSI recipients, there is a special update. Although the regular SSI payment was issued earlier in November, recipients will also receive another payment on November 29, 2024, which was originally scheduled for December 1. Since December 1 falls on a Sunday, the Social Security Administration (SSA) has decided to release this payment early to avoid delays caused by the closure of SSA offices and banks.
SSDI Payments Coming Soon
Disability Insurance recipients who haven’t yet received their SSDI payments can expect two key payment dates in November:
- November 20, 2024: If your birthdate falls between the 11th and 20th of the month.
- November 27, 2024: If your birthdate falls between the 21st and 31st.
SSDI recipients who receive payments before May 1997, or those also receiving SSI benefits, will get their payment on December 3, 2024.
High SSDI Payments
While most SSDI recipients will not see the maximum payment of $3,822, those who have worked for 35 years, paid into Social Security at the taxable maximum, and meet the SSA’s other requirements may qualify for this higher amount. However, the average SSDI payment is closer to $1,542.
If Your SSDI Payment Is Too Low
If your SSDI payment is on the lower end, consider applying for SSI, as it’s possible to receive both SSDI and SSI payments simultaneously. SSI can help increase your monthly financial support.
Stay updated on your payment schedule and eligibility to ensure you receive all the support you’re entitled to.
