Retirees who will not get Social Security until October 23

According to Vibes.okdiario, If you’re receiving Social Security retirement benefits, your payment could arrive on one of four different dates in October, depending on your birth date and other eligibility criteria. While most retirees will receive their payments on time, some may see their direct deposits or checks arrive later in the month.

When Will You Receive Your Payment?

For those qualifying for the final payment in October, here’s the breakdown based on birth dates:

  • October 9: Born between the 1st and 10th of the month
  • October 16: Born between the 11th and 20th of the month
  • October 23: Born between the 21st and 31st of the month

It’s important to note that certain conditions could affect your payment schedule. If you began receiving benefits before May 1997, your next Social Security check will arrive on November 1, two days earlier than scheduled. Additionally, those receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) along with retirement benefits are not eligible for the October 23 payment.

How Much Will Your Social Security Check Be?

The amount you can expect to receive varies significantly based on when you file for benefits:

  • At age 70: Up to $4,873
  • At age 62: Up to $2,710
  • At Full Retirement Age: Up to $3,822

On average, Social Security payments are around $1,920. However, if you worked for only 10 years, filed at 62, and had a low wage, your check may be considerably smaller.

Additionally, retirees who are new to Social Security and have limited income and resources might qualify for SSI benefits, which typically provide an average monthly payment of $575. The next SSI payment is scheduled for November 1, but processing times can vary if you apply in October.
