SJ man accused of recording middle school girls in locker room is arrested.

After he allegedly broke into a locker room at Bret Harte Middle School this week, San Jose police confirmed Friday that they had arrested a man for possessing child sexual abuse materials and using a hidden camera to record minors in a private setting.

According to the San Jose Police Department’s Friday press release, officers responded to a report of an unidentified adult male suspect trespassing onto school property at a middle school on the 7000 block of Bret Harte Dr. on Monday afternoon at around 2:26 p.m. Although the police did not name the school, Bret Harte Middle School is situated on the same block.

According to the police, the suspect entered the women’s locker room on school property while there were female juveniles present. Before being confronted by on-site personnel, the suspect used a mobile device to record inside the locker room. Then he ran out of the school.

The incident was thoroughly investigated by detectives from the San Jose Police Department’s Sexual Assault Investigations Unit (SAIU). Detectives canvassed the neighborhood extensively with the assistance of patrol officers, and Trevis Street, a 41-year-old San Jose resident, was ultimately identified as the main suspect. Detectives found and arrested suspect Street in San Jose on Wednesday after obtaining an arrest warrant. Street was arrested for possessing materials related to child sexual abuse at the Santa Clara County Main Jail.

The case is still being investigated. Detective Lippert #4583 of the San Jose Police Sexual Assault Investigations Unit can be reached by phone at 408-277-4102 or by email at 4583@sanjoseca.gov if you have any relevant information.
