Authorities have released the identity of a man fatally shot in Rosamond over the weekend.
Davion Jasper-Keyon Jackson, 22, was shot early Sunday morning in the 3400 block of 15th Street West. He succumbed to his injuries approximately an hour later at Antelope Valley Hospital.
In addition to Jackson, another individual was discovered with a gunshot wound in the vicinity of the shooting, as reported by the sheriff’s office.
Court records reveal that Jackson had a history of legal troubles, including charges earlier this year for possession of an assault rifle and other firearm-related offenses. In 2022, he pleaded no contest to assault with a deadly weapon other than a gun and received a three-year prison sentence.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact the sheriff’s office at 661-861-3110 or Kern Secret Witness at 661-322-4040.
