Early Saturday morning, San Jose police responded to an illegal sideshow that took place just before 1 a.m. at the intersection of Oakland Road and Murphy Avenue.
Witnesses reported that participants were setting off fireworks while vehicles performed donuts in the midst of the crowd. The gathering eventually relocated about five miles down Highway 1 to the area of Story and Kings roads.
Authorities intervened to disperse the crowds but did not make any arrests during the incident.
