A sign posted in-store confirmed that the location will close at the end of October, stating, “This location is closing, but this isn’t goodbye.” The notice directs loyal customers to another Talbots location in Montgomery and encourages them to shop online.

The news of the store’s closure was first shared on the Friends of HWY 280 Facebook page, prompting a wave of disappointment from long-time customers. One commenter expressed, “So terribly disappointed. This store served a huge community for such a long time… Sad day for women of the community.” Another wrote, “I’m heartbroken.
