Daniel M. Ramos, 46, of Newark, has been arrested and charged with the murder of 19-year-old Angel Encisco in Hayward. Ramos is currently being held at Alameda County Santa Rita Jail and is ineligible for release on bond pending further court proceedings.
The incident occurred on July 13, shortly after 10:30 a.m., when police responded to reports of a shooting and vehicle collision in the 27000 block of Havana Avenue. Officers found Encisco in the driver’s seat of a vehicle that had collided with a parked car, suffering from fatal gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
According to Hayward police, Ramos is believed to be responsible for the shooting. A warrant was executed at Ramos’s residence on October 10, where he was arrested around 10 a.m. During the search, several firearms were recovered.
On October 14, multiple charges were filed against Ramos, including murder and shooting at an occupied vehicle. He has also been charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a large quantity of contraband. Ramos has prior convictions for possession of a controlled substance for sale and possession of an assault weapon.
